EcoCampus – Connecting Zurich Students with Sustainable Choices

Zurich has no shortage of eco-friendly cafés, second-hand stores, and small sustainable shops. Yet when we asked fellow students where to find them, most shrugged. They simply didn’t know any, or where even confused by the question. That gap is what inspired our team to launch EcoCampus, a student-built platform designed to connect our campus community with verified sustainable businesses offering real student discounts.

The idea started with a simple observation: we all want to live more sustainably, but the information is scattered, often unreliable, and sometimes expensive. EcoCampus solves this by curating local options, verifying their sustainability credentials, and displaying them on one easy-to-use map. From packaging-free stores near ETH to vegan cafés around UZH, our goal is to make responsible choices visible and affordable.

By negotiating student deals and promoting authentic Zurich campus discounts, we’re supporting both sides! Students save money, and local eco-businesses reach new customers.

Our journey building EcoCampus taught us that digital tools can drive real change when they’re rooted in community values. Each visit, each “Get Deal” click, strengthens a network of conscious consumers and local entrepreneurs.

For us, EcoCampus isn’t just another course project. It’s a small step toward a smarter, more connected, and truly sustainable student culture in Zurich.
